Ok, first things first, I am at 9 miles this week! Going to run a few tomorrow and pass my 10! Taylor is working overtime tonight so I ran with my friend Carrie tonight which was perfect. I even got to run with Taylor once this week which I haven't done in a while so that was fun.
Have I mentioned the play? I doubt it. Speaking of Carrie, she roped me into helping out with the school play (doing choreography) back in February. We have been attending weekly practices and all kinds of fun things ever since. It has been very time consuming but VERY fun. They did "How I Became a Pirate" based on the book by David Shannon.
It was a.d.o.r.a.b.l.e. The kids performed it on Wednesday for the school and then had shows Thursday and Friday night. That means I left for work on Thursday at 6:45 and got home at 9:15. Luckily Carrie lives in Eagle Mountain where I teach and she was nice enough to cook me dinner so I took a break from school and hung out at her house. Friday was another very long day but so worth it. Taylor, my mom, dad, and Kelsey came out to see the show tonight! It was so nice of them to make the drive out and sit through a cute elementary school play. I am sad yet relieved that it is over. I learned a lot about performing, choreographing, directing, music, sound systems, props, and sets so it was neat to stretch myself and have a new experience. Carrie's daughter, Bailee, got to be in the play and she is the cutest pirate ever. My mom snapped a bunch of pictures for Carrie so here you go.
(PS I look about as exhausted as I feel)
Also, our first graders are putting on a CULTURE FAIR this week. I transformed my room after school into the country my class has been studying. I'm planning to add more but here are the photo's my mom took tonight while she was out there.
Taylor came out last week and taught my kids some Chinese characters since he speaks Mandarin. They did a really good job with it. I guess he is just a good teacher :)
