tradition.

So my family has a long lasting tradition of Swedish Pancakes on important days, such as: birthdays, Christmas, conference weekend etc. Well, today was an important day. Why? It was Taylor's FIRST t.e.s.t. in Dental School! I got up bright and early to make him this lovely, traditional breakfast. He also ate it on, yet another tradition, this "You Are Special" plate! It was given to me by non other than my best friend, Amber Robinson.

So... last summer I used it for Tay when he got his first interview invite (which, by the way, was to IOWA!) and then it got packed away for a year. I brought it back out this morning and added to the special times on the back.

Such a fun tradition. I love traditions and can't wait to start many more with my cute hubby and our future family. If you are wondering.... he got an A! Not surprised.

Also.... I thrifted this cute little shelf and painted it this pretty color I love these days. It is perfect for the space next to our door and for Taylor's keys to hang out. We were disagreeing on their proper home so I solved the problem and hung this baby to help us out! I love it.

  2. Abbey! Travis' family has the same tradition of eating on the "You are Special" plate. His mom gave us one when we got married. We do the same thing now! I love it!
