california. honeymoon.

We had a blast in California. I convinced Taylor to blog with me for the first time, so here is a recap of our trip from the two of us :)

MONDAY
Abbey: We went to the beach, it was kind of cold. We walked around and then we were able to go on a guided Sea Kayak tour. Kayaking is hard work, probably because I did all the rowing. Taylor was behind me just kicking back. It was super fun though, we saw tons of sea lions and were lucky enough to kayak right into a pod of dolphins on the way back in.
Taylor: So abbey's account was mostly accurate. The beach was swarming with high school kids. We had fun watching their hormone induced advances on one another. Although mostly unsuccessful we saw some promise in a few of the relationships. When it came time to kayak we suited up (looking awesome) and headed to the water with our tour guide and fellow tourees. I'll admit i was impressed with abbey's rowing ability and surprised she managed the cold so well. We even enjoyed laughing at a small group of girls obviously from the city who apparently had never been outside longer than necessary to walk from their car to the mall. They looked and acted like a scene from a movie where the three rich white girls were punished for the summer by being sent to girls camp or something. Anyways, when we weren't being entertained by their cries of "i think i put on too much makeup today" or "i didn't know this is what they meant by 'kayaking'" we enjoyed the sea lions and had fun paddling through the dolphins. On the way back i had abbey convinced that i hadn't actually done any paddling... apparently the sun affected her sense of humor. haha. Abbey says this is too long. she's probably right.

TUESDAY

Abbey: We got up early to watch soccer, which we did a lot of. It was so fun to hang out in the hotel and watch the World Cup. We ventured out into the city to get tickets to the Padres game for that night. We went shopping a bit, Taylor is the best shopping partner ever! (He will kill me for saying that) We got something to eat and returned to the hotel to lay out by the pool and read. Perfect vacation activity. Taylor got a slight sun burn with a few funny lines that we laughed about later. That night we went to the Padres game which was cold, but awesome. We saw our first real life grand slam! Afterwards we found our new favorite crepe restaurant and filled up on our second batch of fattening but delicious crepes.
Taylor: Tuesday consisted of watching soccer, burning our white bodies by the pool, shopping, and the padres game. In my defense i find watching a cute girl try on clothes to be a completely heterosexual activity. I would say our outing was anything but a san diago version of queer eye for the straight guy. Shopping was fun. I thought it would be a good time for abbey. I spent most of my time looking for good food i have trouble finding in utah i.e. fish/shrimp tacos, gyros, and chicago dogs. The padres game was awesome and we were lucky to see a GRAND SLAM. AWESOME.
