So Tay and I babysat my sisters kids last weekend. We had a blast, they are an entertaining bunch. We played some football, that was the highlight. Summer just wanted to put the helmet on Taylor and dunk the basketball. Austin "chest bumped" Taylor after every single play, and apparently Kylee was unimpressed with my athletic skills and spent the majority of the time yelling at me. Let's just say I didn't get the athleticism in the family.





On another note, this week in FIRST GRADE was pretty good to me. 4 day weeks are lovely! I have a student I have been working particularly hard on CONFIDENCE with and today was a milestone for him. He got 100% on his spelling test and after school I overheard him tell at least 5 people about it. I got chills as his mom picked him up and gave me a thumbs up when he closed the door. I knew he had told her too. It's the little things that make the days worth all the effort.


We have been working bunches on contractions the last few weeks, and thanks to these few lessons, I think my kids are finally catching it. We made "Contraction Kids" where I gave them name tags and they have to find their partner. Then they got to stick the tag on a "Contraction Kid" and we matched them up and displayed them in our classroom. They are pretty darn cute.

Tonight was a warm fuzzy kind of one. I went out to dinner with my 2 very best friends from High School: Brittany Bateman and Haley Johnson. It was so fun to catch up and see where our lives have taken us. They are some of the best people I know and I LOVE spending time with them.

And FINALLY, I have to admit that I TOTALLY have Bieber Fever. My hubby works till 1 am tonight so my little sister and I went to the movie. I honestly knew very little about him which is shocking since I have obsessions with teen hotties such as Zack Efron. But I am totally jumping on the band wagon, the kid is ADORABLE, so talented and simply likable. By the way, Usher is my other crush. That man can dance.
