It's National Teacher Appreciation week. Let me tell you it is SO weird to be on the other end of the celebration. I have the cutest room mom in the world and a crazy great PTA that have taken to spoiling me and I am loving it. Monday we got lunch catered by Texas Road House and my room mom brought in tinsel and feathers to bead into my hair. I am so trendy now. Then today we got massages during lunch as well as some other gifts. Tomorrow I get a pedicure by my class... I'll let you know how that goes. Then Friday we are having lunch catered by Chik-Fil-A. Can we say lucky?! Oh, not to mention the massive coolers FILLED with cold soda all day long. I won't confess how many I have consumed....
Anyway, I feel grateful every day (these days, can't say the same for months ago) for my job. I absolutely ADORE my kids and freak out every time they succeed. I can't believe I have dedicated so much time to teaching them and loving them and now I have to give them away. I want to memorize everything about them and I am learning to cherish these last few weeks of school. We do a count down, it's now at 22. They boo every day and tell me that they don't want summer to come. I'm glad they feel that way!
Anyway, here's to every teacher I have ever had. I now fully appreciate what they have done for me. Here's to every one out there who has ever taught, or is teaching school. It is hands down the most difficult thing I have ever done but also the most rewarding. How lucky we are to influence a life every day.
