We spent the weekend down in Nauvoo, Illinois. It was awesome! Taylor's birthday is coming up so we celebrated with the family on Friday night. He loves (is obsessed with) pumpkin pie and has been dying for some of his mom's homemade for quite some time. She surprised him and made him, not 1, but 2 pumpkin pies for his birthday! My sister-in-law put up some cute decorations and we ate stew and pie in honor of Taylor.
Saturday was possibly the most perfect fall day I have ever experienced. We went to the temple which was lovely, as always.
Liz and I shopped around for the afternoon while Taylor studied. Then, let me tell you, this tiny town comes to life for Halloween! There were bands playing, food vendors, fortune tellers, a haunted house, and jack-o-lanterns lining the streets. So fun.
Hooray for fall, halloween, and nauvoo. What a great way to spend the weekend.
